| Welcome to an OPEN
FORUM on compound medicine for health professionals! This
Australian website has been created as a point of contact to enable
the open exchange of information between health professionals and
academics with an interest in pharmaceutical compounding. The website
is also for medical practitioners and pharmacies who would like
to set up compounding services at their practices.
This site will also act as an information resource to broaden the
knowledge base of pharmacists, medical practitioners and academics
with an interest in compounding. BioPharm, sponsor of this website,
invites others to participate in the development of this site as
an essential resource and point of contact for health professionals
who are involved in compounding or in the prescribing of compounded
medication.
To successfully develop this website to a high standard and for
it to be a useful tool to those involved in pharmaceutical compounding,
we invite academics, pharmacists and medical practitioners to actively
participate in the development of this website. Input is invited
in the following areas:
- Research papers;
- Anecdotal evidence on what has worked in your pharmaceutical
or medical practice;
- General comments and queries on compounding.
All information received and posted on this website is for the
general purpose of increasing best practice standards in compounding
services. Those who would like to submit information or have further
ideas on how to develop this website can email: hormones@compoundingchemist.com.au
BioPharm is also establishing on this website a register of medical
practitioners and pharmacists who provide compounding services throughout
Australia.
Doctors and pharmacists who provide compound services are invited
to add their name to this register to develop a comprehensive national
referral service of compound service providers. This register will
enable doctors and pharmacies to more easily locate medical and
pharmacy services in their locality.

providers.

and pharmacists that supply compound servicing.
Furthermore, this website will shortly invite the general community
to access this database for the easy location of medical and pharmacy
compound services in their area.
Community members who have used compound services will also be
invited to submit information on their experience. Researchers
will be able to access this data for the purpose of further study
in the area of compound medicine.
